In the Twente region of the Netherlands and its neighbouring regions in Germany, our project focuses oncross-border remote working dynamics. With a diverse population and varied landscape, this areaprovides a rich context for studying the intersection of remote work, urban development andtransportation. We investigate how remote work influences commuting patterns, accessibility to urbanamenities and economic opportunities across borders. By engaging with local stakeholders and leveragingadvanced modelling techniques, we aim to identify synergies and challenges in cross-border remoteworking arrangements, paving the way for enhanced regional cooperation and sustainable development.
