We are happy to share that R-Map was prominently featured at the 6th Changing Cities VI International Conference! This event brought together experts and practitioners to discuss the latest trends and challenges in urban development in the post-COVID era.

Special Session: Emerging Trends in Cities in the Post-COVID Era

Our team members from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Q-PLAN INTERNATIONAL and Research and Innovation Management GmbH participated in a special session titled “Emerging Trends in Cities in the Post-COVID Era and Implications for Urban Planning and Development Policy.” This session delved into the transformative impacts of the pandemic on urban landscapes and explored innovative strategies, technologies and interventions reshaping urban environments.

Session Highlights:

  • Digitalization and Remote Work: The acceleration of digitalization and remote work has significantly altered urban dynamics, highlighting the need for adaptive urban planning and resilient development.
  • Urban Mobility and Public Spaces: Discussions focused on the re-evaluation of urban mobility and the revitalization of public spaces to promote equitable and sustainable urban development.
  • Governance and Policy Frameworks: The role of collaborative governance models and participatory planning approaches in navigating the uncertainties of the post-pandemic era was emphasized.

 

The session provided a platform for interdisciplinary perspectives, fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaborative action among scholars and practitioners.
